The International Olympic Committee has green signalled the entry of Breakdancing or breaking into the Paris Olympic Games in 2024 in a bid to attract a younger audience. Surfing, skateboarding and sports climbing are three other new entrants into the Olympics. Breakdancing gained popularity across the world after emerging in the United States in the 1970s. Breaking is practiced by over a million people across the world.
