Tesla plans to build a huge solar panel factory southwest of Houston, Texas. The project, called Project Crystal Sun, could cost $10.1 billion and create about 9,700 jobs. Tesla hopes to start construction this year, finish by 2028, and produce its first panels in 2029. The company is seeking tax incentives and plans to build 100 gigawatts of U.S. manufacturing capacity by 2028.
