Europe Pushes Back Against U.S. Chip Bill
欧洲反对美国扩大芯片限制法案
Europe is opposing a U.S. bill called the MATCH Act, which would further restrict Chinese chipmakers from buying Western semiconductor equipment. Dutch Trade Minister Sjoerd Sjoerdsma urged U.S. lawmakers to reconsider, warning the impact on the Netherlands could be severe. The bill would also block ASML’s older deep ultraviolet (DUV) machines from being sold to China. China makes up 19% of ASML’s system sales. The proposal has not yet been approved by Congress.
欧洲正反对美国《MATCH法案》，该法案拟进一步限制中国芯片企业购买西方半导体设备。荷兰贸易部长斯约德·斯约德斯马赴美游说国会议员，称此举将严重影响荷兰。法案还拟禁止ASML向中国出售较旧的DUV光刻机，而中国占ASML系统销售额的19%。目前该法案尚未获得美国国会通过。
