Alibaba Cloud Expands in Brazil With New Cloud Region and AI Push

Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Chinese technology giant Alibaba, has launched its first cloud region in Brazil, marking its second major infrastructure expansion in Latin America after Mexico. The new region includes two availability zones and is expected to increase capacity as demand grows.
中国科技巨头阿里巴巴旗下的阿里云近日在巴西正式推出首个云区域,这是其继墨西哥之后在拉丁美洲的第二个重要基础设施布局。巴西新云区域拥有两个可用区,并计划根据市场需求进一步扩大容量。
The Brazil launch brings Alibaba Cloud’s global network to 106 availability zones across 31 regions. The company has recently expanded its infrastructure in countries including France, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia, as it moves forward with plans to invest about $53 billion in cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure worldwide.
随着巴西云区域投入使用,阿里云目前在全球31个区域拥有106个可用区。近期,公司还在法国、日本、韩国和马来西亚等地扩大基础设施,并计划在全球投入约530亿美元,用于云计算和人工智能基础设施建设。
The Brazil launch comes as Alibaba continues to expand its open-source AI portfolio. Its latest Qwen model is designed to balance performance, speed and cost, while the company has also released the open weights of a flagship Qwen model, giving developers greater access to its advanced AI technology.
此次巴西云区域上线,也正值阿里持续扩大Qwen开源AI模型布局之际。公司最新模型强调性能、速度和成本之间的平衡,同时还开放了旗舰Qwen模型的权重,让开发者能够更广泛地使用其先进AI技术。
