Just like(就像) the northern (北部) hemisphere (半球) ’s Northern Lights, the southern (南部) hemisphere has the Southern Lights that also appear(出现) at night and also are called auroras (极光) .
Auroras (极光) happen when particles (粒子) in the earth’s atmosphere (大气层) hit(碰撞) with particles (粒子) coming (来) from the sun’s atmosphere. You can see the amazing (惊奇) auroras (极光) all year but the best time to see them is during the spring and autumn (秋天) equinoxes (昼夜平分时) .
A camera recently(最近) filmed(拍摄) the big bands (带状物) of colours passing over(在…上面) New Zealand. People also saw the Southern (南部) Lights in Australia, America and Europe(欧洲).
