Apple Faces Wave of Executive Exits as Leadership Reshuffle Deepens
Apple’s leadership shake-up is accelerating. After the exits of AI chief John Giannandrea and design head Alan Dye, the company announced two more departures: longtime general counsel Kate Adams will retire in late 2026, and policy and environment head Lisa Jackson will leave in January 2026. Apple has hired Jennifer Newstead—formerly Meta’s chief legal officer and a seasoned U.S. government lawyer—as its new general counsel starting March 2026.
Recent months have brought several high-level losses, including COO Jeff Williams and multiple AI leaders, as Apple struggles to catch up in the AI race and delays an upgraded Siri that relies on Google’s models. Designers have also criticized Apple’s fading attention to detail. The leadership churn reflects broader challenges as the company works to regain momentum.
