TikTok Shop has launched digital gift cards, aiming to strengthen its position against e-commerce leaders like Amazon and eBay. Introduced during the holiday shopping season, the feature allows users to buy gift cards valued from $10 to $500 and personalize them with animated designs for occasions such as birthdays, weddings, and thank-you messages. Gift cards are delivered by email and can be redeemed by TikTok users, with funds instantly added to their TikTok Balance. Recipients can also reply with a thank-you note or send a gift card in return. For now, the cards are only available in the U.S. TikTok plans to expand personalization in early 2026, including video messages and interactive unboxing experiences. The launch follows strong U.S. holiday sales exceeding $500 million, despite ongoing uncertainty over TikTok’s future in the country.
