Alibaba Hires DeepMind Scientist to Strengthen Qwen AI Team
阿里巴巴聘请DeepMind科学家强化通义千问团队
Alibaba Group has recruited Zhou Hao, a former Google DeepMind research scientist, to strengthen development of its Qwen artificial intelligence models, according to sources. The move comes amid an internal restructuring that saw the departure of previous technical lead Lin Junyang and post-training research head Yu Bowen. Zhou, who earned a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will lead post-training research for the Qwen team. During his time at Google, he contributed to major AI projects including Gemini 3, AI Mode and Deep Research. Alibaba has recently accelerated efforts to monetise the global adoption of its Qwen AI models as competition in artificial intelligence intensifies.
