OpenClaw Sparks China’s ‘Lobster Trade’ Stock Frenzy
OpenClaw 引发中国股市“龙虾交易”热潮
OpenClaw, an open-source AI assistant, has triggered a wave of speculative buying in China’s stock market, creating what traders call the “lobster trade.” The term comes from the AI tool’s lobster-shaped logo. Companies linked to OpenClaw surged despite broader market weakness caused by Middle East tensions. Hangzhou Shunwang Technology rose 21 per cent in a week after integrating OpenClaw into its AI cloud system. Talkweb Information System jumped 12 per cent with plans for new OpenClaw-based products, while Beijing VRV Software gained 15 per cent after connecting its platform to the tool. Meanwhile, the CSI 300 Index increased just 0.9 per cent. Analysts say OpenClaw could accelerate AI adoption by allowing large-language models to perform real tasks like organizing files, installing software and even shopping online.
