Disney+ Launches TikTok-Style “Verts” Feed to Boost Mobile Engagement

Disney+ has begun rolling out a new short-form video feature called “Verts” to users in the United States through its mobile app. Announced earlier in January, the feature introduces a vertical video feed similar to popular formats seen on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels. The goal is to help viewers quickly discover content from Disney+’s vast library by browsing short clips from movies and TV shows.

Verts appears as a new icon in the app’s navigation bar. Once opened, users can scroll through a continuous feed of short clips highlighting memorable scenes, trending moments, or popular titles available on the platform. While watching these snippets, viewers can easily add shows or movies to their watchlist or jump directly into the full program.

The new feature reflects a broader trend in the entertainment industry, where streaming services are experimenting with short-form content to attract mobile-first audiences. Younger viewers, in particular, increasingly prefer quick, scrollable videos on their phones rather than committing immediately to long-form programming.
