China’s Cloud Giants Raise Prices on AI Boom

Alibaba and Baidu are increasing cloud service prices by up to 34% as demand for artificial intelligence drives higher infrastructure costs. Following similar moves by US tech firms, Alibaba Cloud announced that, from April 18, services powered by its AI chips will see price hikes ranging from 5% to 34%. Its Cloud Parallel File Storage will rise by 30%. In the first half of 2025, Alibaba Cloud led China’s AI cloud market with a 36% share. The increases reflect growing investment pressure as companies expand computing capacity to support AI applications.
