Geely Auto has surpassed BYD in vehicle sales during the first two months of 2026, marking a significant shift in China’s highly competitive automotive industry. The milestone comes as Geely benefits from a broad product lineup and steady demand, while BYD faces declining sales following the partial removal of government tax incentives for electric vehicles.

According to company data, Geely delivered 476,327 vehicles globally in January and February, a modest 1% increase year-on-year. In contrast, BYD reported 400,241 units sold, representing a sharp 38.5% drop compared with the same period last year.
