Uber Expands Driverless Robotaxi Service in Dubai
优步在迪拜扩大无人出租车服务
Uber and Chinese firm WeRide have launched fully driverless robotaxis in Dubai, marking a major step in autonomous transport. Riders can book via the Uber app across key districts, with local operator Tawasul managing fleets. Earlier trials included safety drivers and free rides, but the new phase follows official approval for driverless testing. Uber, which holds a stake in WeRide, has heavily invested in the company and plans expansion to 15 more cities. The partnership mirrors Uber’s model with Waymo, combining its ride network with WeRide’s autonomous technology.
