US Strikes Iranian Radar Sites as Tensions Rise
The United States struck Iranian coastal radar sites on Friday after shooting down four Iranian attack drones near the Strait of Hormuz, according to U.S. Central Command. Washington said the drones threatened regional shipping and that the radar strikes were aimed at preventing further attacks. The action raises concerns about the stability of a fragile Middle East ceasefire. Meanwhile, Iranian adviser Mohsen Rezaei said peace talks remain deadlocked and urged President Donald Trump to release $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets to advance a deal. Trump said Iran has little choice but to negotiate and claimed the country now possesses only about one-fifth of its prewar missile stockpile.
