Nvidia Agrees to Buy AI Platform Hugging Face for $12.93 Billion

Chipmaker Nvidia has agreed to acquire Hugging Face, the world’s leading platform for sharing and hosting AI models, for about $12.93 billion. The deal includes roughly $11.9 billion paid to shareholders plus up to $1 billion in equity to keep employees. Nvidia says Hugging Face will stay open to all models, cloud services and chip vendors. The platform is used by more than 18 million developers and 200,000 companies. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027.
