Serious overloading, speeding found to be main causes of traffic accident that killed 15
黑龙江勃利县致15人死亡交通事故原因查明：重型半挂牵引车涉嫌严重超载、超速
An initial investigation into the traffic accident that killed 15 people in Qitaihe City, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province has found one vehicle suspected of serious overloading and speeding and another in which the driver did not have a license.
In the early morning of Saturday at around 4 am, a truck drove into a tractor from behind in Qitaihe City, leaving 15 people dead and one injured, state broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) reported.
Among the 15 people who died in the accident, one was the truck driver and 14 were onboard the tractor. The injured person is being treated at hospital.
After an initial investigation, police found the truck was suspected of serious overloading and speeding, and that it did not maintain a safe distance from the tractor in front, which was the direct cause of the accident, according to the CCTV report. Also, the tractor driver had no license and seriously violated the law on carrying people, which made the consequences of the accident worse.
2021年9月4日4时许，在国道G229七台河市勃利县大四站镇双兴岭路段，车牌照号为黑KA0785的重型半挂牵引车由西向东行驶，与前方同向行驶的四轮拖拉机追尾相撞，造成15人死亡、1人受伤。其中，重型半挂牵引车司机1人死亡，四轮拖拉机上14人死亡，1人受伤正在救治中。
经初步调查，黑KA0785号重型半挂牵引车涉嫌严重超载、超速，且未与前方同向四轮拖拉机保持安全距离，追撞四轮拖拉机尾部，是导致事故发生的直接原因；四轮拖拉机驾驶人无证驾驶且严重违法载人，加重了事故损害后果。
