Xpeng’s new G7 SUV has made a spectacular market entry, securing over 10,000 firm orders within the first nine minutes of its launch, the company announced on Weibo. Priced from RMB 195,800 ($27,330), the G7 undercuts its main rival, the Tesla Model Y, by 25.69%. Deliveries are set to begin shortly, with some customers expecting their vehicles within 1–2 weeks, as shown in screenshots shared by Weibo users.

The G7 offers three variants: 602 Max, 702 Max, and 702 Ultra. Notably, it is the first model to feature Xpeng’s in-house Turing AI driving chip, though only the Ultra variant uses three chips (2,250 TOPS), while Max variants rely on two Nvidia Orin X chips (508 TOPS). Deutsche Bank projects the G7 will drive 55,000 deliveries in H2 2025, aligning with Xpeng’s own forecast, and expects the model to sell around 100,000 units annually.

With dimensions of 4,892mm (L) × 1,925mm (W) × 1,655mm (H) and a 2,890mm wheelbase, the G7 competes with models like Nio’s Onvo L60 and BYD’s Tang EV. Deutsche Bank further predicts Xpeng’s total 2025 deliveries will hit 480,000 units (up 153% YoY), with Q3 and Q4 deliveries at 134,000 and 149,000 units, respectively. Xpeng already delivered 197,189 units in H1 2025, exceeding its 2024 full-year total, as it aims to double last year’s delivery volume.
