Huawei Opens Sources Cangjie Programming Language to Compete with Java, Swift
Huawei plans to open-source its self-developed programming language Cangjie, aiming to rival Java and Swift. Unveiled a year ago, Cangjie supports general programming for apps on Huawei’s HarmonyOS Next. The company announced at its annual developer conference in June that the language will be accessible to all developers starting July 30. Open-sourcing lets the public access the source code, allowing third-party developers to modify, fix issues, or expand its capabilities.
