Yum China Steps Up Store Openings as Consumer Spending Shows Hints of Recovery
百胜中国加速开店 迎来消费回暖初现
Yum China Holdings, the operator of KFC and Pizza Hut in mainland China and Hong Kong, plans to accelerate store expansion in 2026 after beating market expectations in the fourth quarter. The company aims to open 1,900 new outlets this year, raising its total store count to 20,000, following the addition of 1,706 outlets in 2025. Chief financial officer Adrian Ding said Yum China would further expand its franchise model, with franchise stores expected to make up 40 to 50 per cent of new openings. The strategy targets lower-tier cities, where the company sees stronger growth potential and early signs of a recovery in consumer spending.
