Robotaxi Glitch Sparks Safety Concerns
无人驾驶出租车故障引发安全担忧
Baidu’s Apollo Go robotaxis suddenly stalled across Wuhan, China, leaving some passengers trapped for up to two hours. Police said a “system failure” affected over 100 vehicles, causing them to freeze, even in fast traffic lanes. The cause remains unknown as investigations continue. Baidu has not commented on the incident. As a major robotaxi operator expanding globally, including plans for Dubai, the outage raises fresh concerns about safety and reliability. Similar issues have occurred abroad, such as Waymo vehicles halting during a power outage in California, highlighting risks tied to autonomous transport systems.
