Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang argued that AI will create jobs rather than destroy them during a discussion at the Milken Institute. Speaking with Becky Quick, Huang said AI offers the U.S. a major chance to rebuild manufacturing through factories producing AI hardware. He claimed many people wrongly assume that automating tasks means eliminating entire jobs. According to Huang, workers will still play broader organizational roles even if AI handles certain duties. He also warned that exaggerated “AI doomer” stories could make Americans fear and reject the technology. Critics note that some alarming rhetoric has actually come from the AI industry itself as a way to attract attention. Despite Huang’s optimism, some financial and academic studies estimate AI could eliminate up to 15% of U.S. jobs in coming years.
