Alibaba shares surged in Hong Kong and New York after the company reported rapid growth in its AI business. AI-related revenue reached 8.97 billion yuan in the first quarter, with triple-digit growth continuing for 11 straight quarters. Alibaba expects annual AI revenue to hit 30 billion yuan this year. Its cloud-computing division also grew 38% year on year, helping offset slightly weaker overall revenue results.
