ByteDance is using OpenClaw’s popularity to expand its AI business through Volcano Engine’s ArkClaw cloud agent tool. The company believes future AI growth depends on lower token costs, better inference efficiency, and longer context windows. Li Guodong, ArkClaw’s chief architect, said agent-related token use is still small but rising fast. Despite fading early hype, OpenClaw’s first mainland China event attracted about 1,300 developers, showing strong interest in the open-source AI assistant and its growing ecosystem.
