Kuaishou Shares Jump on Kling AI Spin-Off Plans

Kuaishou shares surged after reports said its Kling AI unit could reach a US$20 billion valuation. The Chinese short-video company is reportedly seeking US$2 billion from investors, including Tencent, and may spin off Kling AI. The AI video-generation service now has an annual revenue run rate of US$500 million, double its level before Lunar New Year. Another report said Kling AI could launch an IPO in 2027. Kuaishou confirmed it is considering restructuring Kling AI and bringing in outside funding, but said discussions are still at an early stage.
