Apple has sued OpenAI, accusing it of stealing trade secrets and encouraging former Apple employees to share confidential information. The lawsuit claims OpenAI leaders, including hardware chief Tang Tan, asked recruits to bring Apple components, reveal details about unreleased products, and avoid Apple’s security rules. Apple also alleges former engineer Chang Liu kept a company laptop and downloaded secret documents. The case comes as OpenAI expands into AI hardware that could compete with the iPhone. Apple wants the court to stop OpenAI from using its trade secrets and return all confidential materials.
