Honda Eyes Data Centers with Battery Shift
Honda has started making batteries for energy storage systems, marking its move beyond electric vehicles. After canceling several U.S. EV programs due to weak demand and the end of tax credits, the company redirected battery production to power data centers and the electricity grid. The fast-growing energy storage market is expected to nearly triple by 2030, driven by rising demand for renewable energy and AI infrastructure. Like Tesla, Ford, and GM, Honda now sees battery storage as a profitable business beyond cars.
