ChatGPT Opens Unlimited Text Chats to Free Users

OpenAI is removing limits on text-based conversations for ChatGPT users, giving Free and Go users unlimited text chats. The change comes as ChatGPT recently passed 1 billion weekly users.
OpenAI 正在取消 ChatGPT 文本聊天的使用限制，免费版和 Go 用户将可以进行无限文本聊天。此次更新正值 ChatGPT 用户规模快速增长之际，目前其每周用户数已经突破 10 亿。
The new GPT-5.6 Luna model will become the default for Free and Go users, replacing GPT-5.5. Users will also get a new “Think” button, allowing them to activate more reasoning power when dealing with difficult or complex questions. However, limits will remain for features such as file uploads, images, voice conversations, and image generation.

Plus and Pro subscribers are also receiving upgrades. They will gain access to an improved GPT-5.6 Sol model designed for everyday tasks such as answering questions, web research, giving advice, planning, writing, and decision-making. OpenAI says the updated model provides more concise and reliable answers. This version is separate from the GPT-5.6 Sol model used for Codex and Work, which remains unchanged.

According to OpenAI’s internal testing, GPT-5.6 Luna had 62% fewer factual errors than GPT-5.5-Instant, while GPT-5.6 Sol had 68% fewer errors.
