Huawei Debuts First HarmonyOS Laptop After Windows Licence Ends

Huawei has launched its first laptop powered by HarmonyOS 5, following the expiration of its Windows licence in March. The unnamed device features Huawei’s AI assistant, Celia, which can create slides, summarize meetings, and retrieve document data using compatible apps. HarmonyOS 5—also called HarmonyOS Next—marks a strategic shift as most Huawei laptops previously ran Windows. The new system integrates a suite of Chinese software, including WPS Office and Alibaba’s DingTalk, highlighting Huawei’s push toward a more self-reliant tech ecosystem amid ongoing U.S. trade restrictions.
华为在Windows授权于今年3月到期后，推出了首款搭载HarmonyOS 5操作系统的笔记本电脑。这款尚未命名的设备配备了华为的AI助手Celia，可通过兼容软件完成制作PPT、会议纪要整理、本地文件检索等任务。HarmonyOS 5（又称HarmonyOS Next）代表了华为在操作系统上的重要转型。此前，华为大多数笔记本仍使用Windows系统。这款新设备还预装了WPS Office、阿里钉钉等国产软件，体现出华为在美方持续制裁下，构建自主科技生态的战略方向。
