Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has accelerated its global talent acquisition by posting a series of Mandarin-language job listings on LinkedIn over the past week, signaling its pursuit of overseas Chinese expertise amid a fierce international race for AI professionals. The Hangzhou-based firm listed 10 roles, including large language model (LLM) internships, deep learning researchers, and core systems engineers, with positions based in Hangzhou or Beijing.

Job descriptions emphasize competitive advantages like “top-tier GPU clusters” and “rapid experimental iteration,” noting that recruits will collaborate with dual-expert teams focused on artificial general intelligence (AGI) balancing practical outcomes and academic rigor. While LinkedIn has scaled back in mainland China, DeepSeek’s use of the platform suggests a strategic focus on overseas Chinese talent.

The company is also actively recruiting via its website and domestic platform Boss Zhipin, listing 18 roles—including urgent positions in AGI research—on its site, alongside C-suite and HR roles. On Boss Zhipin, over 40 listings offer top salaries of 90,000 yuan ($12,560) monthly plus two-month annual bonuses, highlighting its aggressive hiring strategy to compete with global tech giants like Meta, OpenAI, and ByteDance in the AI talent scramble.
