Ikea Opens Small Beijing Store to Adapt to New Consumer Trends
宜家开设北京小型门店以适应消费新趋势
Ikea will launch its first small-format store in Beijing, focusing on convenience and curated design services. Located in Tongzhou, the 1,500-square-metre outlet is far smaller than traditional stores. The move follows the closure of seven large outlets earlier this year, as demand for home furnishings weakens amid China’s property slowdown. Targeting young couples and families, Ikea hopes the new format will attract more visitors by offering easier access and a more efficient shopping experience.
