Volvo Wins U.S. Exemption for Chinese Car Tech
沃尔沃获准继续在美国销售中国联网技术汽车
Volvo Cars received special permission from the Trump administration to continue selling vehicles in the U.S. with Chinese-connected technology. The Swedish automaker, owned mainly by China’s Geely, had faced restrictions under Biden-era rules targeting Chinese software and hardware in connected vehicles over security concerns. Volvo said discussions with U.S. officials about governance, technology, and data security led to the approval. The decision supports Volvo’s U.S. expansion, including more production in South Carolina and local manufacturing of the Polestar 3 EV.
